Important Milestones

My educational background has strengthened my inherent inclination towards analytical thinking, and is one reason for why I consistently strive to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing tasks, often spotting discrepancies. While studying business and economics with an analytical orientation as undergraduate, I attended four challenging but rewarding sessions of LSE Summer School. I undertook courses in accounting, finance, econometrics and microeconomics and got international friends for life. Little did I know back then that living abroad would become my addiction.

During my third year at university, I immersed myself in the Spanish economy. I spent an exchange semester at Universidad Complutense de Madrid and wrote my bachelor’s thesis on Spain and the economic crisis. My supervisor found my thesis to be the best one he supervised in 2012, why it was nominated to represent the School of Business, Economics and Law in national competitions.

2011 I MADRID

2013 I GOTHENBURG

Afterwards, I went on to obtain a two-year MSc in International Business and Trade, which provided me with a combination of training and knowledge about the functioning of multinational companies in the global economy and allowed me to develop capabilities for sustainable and competitive managerial decision making (also covered under the heading Specialising in Fine Wine & Spirits).

During my master’s studies, I worked part-time at Newsec – the largest specialised commercial property firm in Northern Europe. I worked alongside a Business Controller and spent most of my time taking part in various ad-hoc projects, assisting in the preparation of business plans, financial reporting, project reporting and compiling economic data.

In 2015, almost 25,000 candidates applied for a five-month traineeship (October intake) at the European Commission, and only about 600 of us were offered a position. A highly valued practice at the very core of EU, which added a further dimension to my education and deepened my understanding of the work of the Union.

I embraced the audit work, performed risk assessment, conducted field work and produced draft reports as part of the validation reports at Unit C.3 Budgetary Structure and Validation of Local Systems as a way to enlarge my profile. I was one of two out of nine trainees at DG Budget who was offered to stay after the traineeship, and stayed as Assistant Internal Auditor for two months before starting my Asian adventure.

2015 I BRUSSELS

2017 I Hong Kong

Early on at Depack, I was asked to add business management to my responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

  • Management of the overall P&L and financial reporting
  • Preparation of annual report and financial statements (income statement, cashflow statement, balance sheet)
  • Bookkeeping and payments
  • Bank, accountant and company secretary relationships
  • HR management

Beyond that I conducted effective research on Global Travel Retail and new technologies, analysed data, prepared business plans, forecasts, reports and presentations for senior management and applied critical thinking skills to every project I was involved in.

As a company founder, I do my own bookkeeping, accounting and financial reports. Next on the agenda is to help my current client, the Bluedog Group, set up new offices abroad..

2022 I EUROPE
